MashSpa: The Mashed Library Event in Bath
Tuesday, October 12th, 2010The 6th Mashed Library event known as MashSpa will be held in Bath on Friday 29 October. Designed for librarians and technical staff, this one-day event is an opportunity for them to meet, share knowledge and create new mashups. The morning programme will be given over to a few talks while the afternoon will be dedicated to mashing and creating new ideas for your library and some workshops. We would stress that no technical expertise is required of participants. There are still a few places available. You can book online now.
The Metadata Forum at RepoFringe 2010

Practical Metadata for Repository Administrators
Monday, August 16th, 2010Stephanie Taylor of UKOLN gave a short presentation on the basics of metadata, followed by a workshop session on the practical application of structured metadata and collaborative tagging within institutional repositories, at the RSP Workshop for Repository Administrators. The event was held at Oxford University on 11 August 2010. Slides are available via the RSP website.
Mashed Library 2010 – Chips and Mash
Monday, July 19th, 2010Julian Cheal of UKOLN will be giving a lightning talk as part of the Mashed Library 2010 – Chips and Mash programme offered at Mashed Library 2010, which will be held at Huddersfield University on 30 July 2010, on a few uses of RFID readers and Library data. The talk will mainly comprise demonstrations of some RFID code Julian has written.
