Doing It Differently Conference

MashSpa: The Mashed Library Event in Bath

The sixth Mashed Libraryexternal link event known as MashSpa will be held in Bath on Friday 29 October. Designed for librarians and technical staff, the one-day event is an opportunity for them to meet, share knowledge and create new mashups. The morning will be given over to a couple of talks while the afternoon will be dedicated to mashing and creating new ideas for your library. We would stress that no technical expertise is required of participants. Booking for this event is now open.

UKOLN Contribution to THE Article on “All about me, dot com”

Brian Kelly was featured in an article published in the Time Higher Education entitled All about me, dot comexternal link. The article explored “the world of academics’ personal websites“. Brian made the point that “universities may lose access to material, such as posted lecture notes, if academics are operating outside the university domain. But then again, if IT services cannot cater for academics who want to manage their personal page in a more hands-on style, an exit from the university sphere might make sense.
