E-mail is now the preferred means of professional communication, radically altering working practices. At the same time it presents organisations with major issues in the management of such information. In her briefing paper, one of a series to appear on the DCC site, Maureen Pennock of UKOLN introduces the issues involved and offers some practical advice for successful curation of e-mail messages.

Friday, April 7th, 2006Michael Day of UKOLN spoke recently on the technical issues of digital preservation at a conference in Madrid entitled “Preservation of Digital Heritage: Basic Concepts and Main Initiatives” organised by the libraries sub-directorate of the Spanish Ministry of Culture. During the conference he also gave a seminar on OAIS applications in digital preservation projects. Slides for both are now available.
