A reminder that the deadline for proposals is 28 February 2006.

The DCC welcomes contributions and participation from individuals, organisations and institutions interested in the curation of data and the management of repositories for science and scholarship. The deadline for all submissions is 3 April 2006.

A vacancy has arisen at UKOLN for a Technical Director. The closing date for applications is 16 February 2006.

Liz Lyon, UKOLN Director, gave a plenary presentation at the 8th International Bielefeld Conference in Germany and the presentation is now available.

This is a reminder that the deadline for booking a place on the “Initiatives & Innovation: Managing Disruptive Technologies” workshop – which will be held at the University of Warwick on 24 February 2006 – is 17 February 2006.

The tenth anniversary issue of Ariadne has appeared containing specially commissioned articles on the developments that have occurred in the lifetime of the Magazine and their authors” view on potential changes for the future. Peter Brophy, Reg Carr, Lorcan Dempsey, Patrick Lauke, Derek Law, Clifford Lynch, John MacColl, Charles Oppenheim and Chris Rusbridge have all contributed to this issue supported by submissions on reviews and events in the usual way. We are confident that readers will all find something to engage their interest in this reflective decennial issue of Ariadne.

Michael Heaney of Oxford University Library Services has extended his entity-relation model of collections and their catalogues to include modelling of the means by which users obtain access to collections. The result is a new document “Users and Information Resources: An
Extension of the Analytical Model of Collections and their Catalogues into Usage and Transactions”
