Ariadne Web Magazine”s 10th Anniversary Issue will be appearing soon and will carry material reflecting in a number of ways on the period in which the Magazine has operated. Among others, Derek Law will be writing on “Delivering Open Access: From Promise to Practice” and how the open access agenda will develop over the next ten years. In “Projects into Services: The UK Experience”, Peter Brophy reviews the experience of the UK academic sector in turning digital library projects into sustainable services, while in “What Users Want: An Academic “Hybrid” Library Perspective”, Reg Carr reflects on the development of a user-centred approach in academic libraries over recent decades and into the era of the hybrid library. In “Google Challenges for Academic Libraries” John MacColl analyses the reactions many academic libraries may be having to the range of tools Google is currently rolling out and outlines a strategy for institutions in the face of such potentially radical developments. There will also be a bumper pack of reviews on works which cover a slightly broader spectrum in the light of Ariadne”s 10 years on the Web. We take this opportunity to thank the many well-wishers and hope they will continue to read and support Ariadne”s work.
