Monday, November 18th, 2002is now available. This issue contains feature articles on the CHIMER, CIPHER, online COMPENDIUM and ORIEL projects from the DIGICULT Programme.
There is also an article on the Irish National Digitisation Programme.
Continuing our theme on developments in the area of Cultivate Russia,
Nadezhda Brakker and Leonid Kujbyshev of Centre PIC provide us with a view
of new trends in state information policy in the Russian cultural sphere. To
complement the latter article on general Russian developments, Natalia
Fedianina tells us about the successes and challenges in her home region around Smolensk. Closer to home, Michael Day reports on the 2nd ECDL Workshop on Web Archiving held in Rome this September and amongst other contributions, Brian Kelly considers aspects of policy on making and
permitting links.
2nd Open Archives Forum Workshop, Lisbon on 6-7 December, 2002
Monday, November 11th, 2002“Open Access to Hidden Resources” will bring together organizations in the archival and library fields to explore whether, and under what
conditions, the open archive approach is viable for these organisations, and to promote new collaborative links aimed at building interoperable infrastructures. Registration is now open. An introductory tutorial on the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) is offered on the afternoon of 5 December.
