Scaling the e-mail mountain at the 10th Records Management Society Conference

Maureen Pennock, DCC researcher at UKOLN, has been invited to speak at this year”s annual conference of the Records Management Society on the subject of managing and preserving e-mails. Her presentation, entitled “Scaling the e-mail mountain: a records manager”s guide to e-mail curation” is scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday 1 May. The conference will take place at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton from 30 April to 2 May.

Looking after digital data: new draft principles

Following much consultation during the course of last year, the Research Information Network (RIN) has drawn up a set of draft Principles for the Stewardship of Research Data to meet the challenge of managing the unprecedented quantities and varieties of digital data now being created. This is particularly relevant to the recent work UKOLN has been undertaking for the JISC to investigate the relationships between data centres and institutions which may develop data repositories.
