Michael Day will speak at the conference of the same name organised by the Ark Group, to be held over 26-28 September 2006. His subject will be “Applying flexibility to adapt for technological changes and practical considerations for implementing digital preservation strategies”. Michael will also facilitate a post-conference workshop on using metadata to support digital preservation.

Ariadne Issue 48 now available

The summer issue of Ariadne Web Magazine is now available with articles, among others, by Lorcan Dempsey and Robin Murray on the changing environment for library systems together with an introduction from Dan Chudnov and colleagues to a new HTTP API for serving information objects. Caroline Williams gives an overview of Intute while Martin Moyle introduces the ShibboLEAP Project, a multi-institution Shibboleth adoption in London. Alastair Dunning writes about the work of the AHDS which celebrates its tenth year this summer.

DELOS seminar for digital preservation practitioners

practitioners at the National Library of Estonia, Tallinn, over 4-5 September 2006. UKOLN is one of seven partners participating in the Preservation Cluster as well as in other DELOS work.

2nd International Digital Curation Conference opens for bookings

Bookings are now open for the 2nd International Digital Curation Conference to be held at the Hilton Glasgow over 21-22 November 2006. The conference will explore the topic of Digital Data Curation in Practice. Keynote speeches will be made by Dr Hans F Hoffmann, CMS Team Leader, CERN and Clifford Lynch, Director of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI).

Annual ICA-SUV seminar on university and research records

The theme for the seminar will be “Shared Concerns and Responsibility for University Records and Archives”.
