Guidelines for implementing Dublin Core in XML become DCMI Recommendation

The Guidelines for implementing Dublin Core in XML by Andy Powell and Pete Johnston is now a DCMI Recommendation. This document considers both simple (unqualified) DC and qualified DC applications. At the same time, a new set of XML schemas have been published. These support the encoding of Qualified Dublin Core metadata records, including the use of element refinements and encoding schemes, and follow the conventions described in Guidelines for expressing Dublin Core in XML.

Portal stakeholder analysis published

The PORTAL project has published the results of
consultation with almost 700 potential users of institutional portals from across the tertiary education sector. The PORTAL project is funded
by the JISC, and is being undertaken by Academic Services Interactive Media at the University of Hull, and by UKOLN.
