Blogging is an important part, but not the be all and end all. For example i use my blog to raise awareness alongside use of social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. I also recommend Google Keyword search as you rightily point, it is important to find out what your customers are searching for, and adapt content to help them.
