Which reminds me, I recall you asked who was funding this initiative. You may have spotted anyway, but it’s the ‘Manchester Innovation Investment Fund’ which is “a partnership between NESTA, Manchester City Council and the RDA, managed by Manchester Knowledge Capital”.

Interesting, though perhaps not surprising, that there was a rather negative reaction to opening access to data in general and hyper-local geographical data in particular. Another example of “the agoraphobia of openness” perhaps? Knowledge is indeed power.
