Testing automated subject indexing tools
Posted by Kora on July 17th, 2009
Currently we are looking at a number of tools to test. The current candidates are:
- Temis Categorizer (http://www.temis.com/index.php?id=78&selt=1)
- KEA (http://www.nzdl.org/Kea/)
- TextGarden (http://kt.ijs.si/Dunja/textgarden/)
- TerMine (http://www.nactem.ac.uk/software/termine/)
- KnowLib’s automated classifier (http://www.it.lth.se/knowlib/auto.htm)
- iVia project’s libiViaClassification (http://ivia.ucr.edu/manuals/stable/libiViaClassification/5.4.0/)
We are also inviting invitations for participation to software companies that would receive data sets from us, run the softwares on their own, send us their output, and we would run the evaluation. Temis, for example, have already agreed to participate.
Please let us know if you would like to suggest a software to test by the end of July. Thank you!
